Did I scare you? October and I finally have the inclination to post. Here are some ramblings:

Headsets: I have a size 8 head. Yup I know is a biggie, kinda matches the rest of me. Since it is oversize I contacted Heil about sizes of their headsets. They answered graciously and suggested a couple. I ordered one from them, Pro Micro – Single-Sided, Dynamic . I hope it does what I want it to and meets my requirements.

POTA Palooza: This exercise with the club, SWIARC was interesting. I learned that I prefer a more leisurely contact rate. Banging out the contacts like it is a race just does not appeal to me.

I need a chair, some kind of desk, a computer and my own radio to properly participate. I cannot stand that long without a suitable chair. Something like this – Giant Camp Chair . Easy in and out for a 6’6″ 350 lb. guy like me. Good thing is I already have one. A computer because I cannot read my own handwriting. Wither it is Parkinson’s or an essential tremor, I cannot read what I write. I have a tablet, and one of the $100 windows 10 computers that runs on 12v dc so I can charge it from my 100ahr battery, so that should be addressed.

Radio: Currently have an FT-891 for the radio, looking at the FT-710 for possible use.

Antennas: Chameleon 17 ft whip, Wolf river coil, End fed half wave 10-40m.

Coax: Messi& Paoloni – 50 FT POTA 6mm yellow , 50 ft Airborne 5

Desk: the tailgate on the RAM or I have a 6′ regular table or I may make a new taller folding radio table. (More about that later)
